Police were called to a local department store Thursday afternoon after a juvenile was stopped by store loss prevention for taking items without paying, according to a Johnson City Police news release.
According to the release, a 17-year-old female from Chicago selected and concealed 18 items in her purse in a fitting room at Kohl’s, 190 Marketplace Blvd.
She walked out of the store without paying for the items, but was stopped by the store’s loss prevention officer, the release said.
The items the juvenile took were valued at $576.
She was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and her hearing was scheduled for today at 9 a.m.
