A fire in a Johnson City apartment building was extinguished in less than an hour Wednesday morning.
The fire at 202 Mayflower Road, Apt. 7, was reported just before 11 a.m. Dispatchers reported that smoke and flames were seen coming from the door.
No one was hurt but the door to the unit was heavily damaged by fire, as was the guttering above the unit.
Firefighters were discarding damaged clothing and other items, some of which was still smoldering, in the apartment building's parking lot.
Johnson City Fire Department Capt. Steve Weaver said a cause for the fire was not yet known but a fire marshal would be investigating.
