A traffic stop resulted in Johnson City police Thursday placing a meth charge against a man.

Police charged Kevin Tolley, 37, no address given, with promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.

This charge was placed after a traffic stop Sunday on Marketplace Boulevard that resulted in the discovery of 48 pseudoephedrine pills, several feet of plastic tubing, a bottle of Drain-O, and eight lithium batteries. These are common components used to make methamphetamine, police said in a news release.

Tolley is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

He was scheduled to appear Thursday in Sessions Court.
