MOUNTAIN CITY — A woman was charged Dec. 19 with sale of a schedule II drug, violation of the drug-free school zone act, possession of schedule II drugs and possession of legend drugs after a undercover investigation, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Sheriff’s office drug investigators along with undercover drug officers from the Elizabethton Police Department met with Mrs. Laura Katherine Campbell, also known as Kathy Eller, in a parking lot at the intersection of Tenn. Highway 67 and U.S. Highway 421 within 1,000 feet of a school zone.
An undercover officer conducted a hand-to-hand transaction for $400 worth of prescription medication from Campbell, police said.
Campbell was arrested after the transaction and transported to the Johnson County Jail, where she was held under $83,000 bond. She has a Sessions Court date set for March 12 at 9 a.m. Money, a vehicle and other items were seized in the bust, the sheriff’s office said.
