KIMBALL, W.Va. — Hazardous material crews are responding after at least 16 train cars derailed in West Virginia.Media outlets report that the Norfolk Southern train derailed around 8:30 a.m. Friday in an area of McDowell County along U.S. Route 52. No evacuations have been ordered and there are no injuries.County emergency center spokesman John Sidote says the derailment included two tankers, one of which is in the Elkhorn Creek.Norfolk Southern officials say that tanker car may contain asphalt and may be leaking into the creek. The train has five locomotives and 111 cars and is about 7,000 feet long.It was headed from Bellevue, Ohio to Linwood, N.C.Norfolk Southern personnel and contractors are en route to assess the situation and begin cleanup.
