A Johnson City man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend early Monday morning.
Police said the girlfriend of Robert J. Williams, 54, 115 Beechnut St, Apt. B10, had a cut and bruise above her left eye when officers got to Williams’ house.
The girlfriend, who was not identified, was treated and released from the hospital.
Williams was charged with domestic assault and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $1,000 bond.
He was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Tuesday.
