A pregnant teenager from Wise, Va., was arrested Wednesday on a drug paraphernalia and DUI charge after officers noticed and stopped her vehicle that was weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 26, according to a police report.
According to the report, Goldie Jean Greene, 18, 6806 Bates Airfield, was pulled over by officers after being seen driving erratically on the interstate. When police made contact with her, she reportedly had slurred speech and a marijuana pipe in the front seat between herself and her male juvenile passenger.
She also allegedly had trouble balancing while getting out of her vehicle and her eyes were glazed over.
Greene told police she had smoked a bowl of marijuana in Gate City, Va., and she was arrested. When police asked if she had anything illegal on her person, she pulled another marijuana pipe from her bra.
According to the report, a field sobriety test was not conducted as Greene was reportedly eight months pregnant.
Greene’s passenger was taken to a local hotel after police notified his parents for permission.
Greene was charged with unlawful drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held on $2,000 bond.
She was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
