A Johnson City man convicted in a 2011 nightclub shooting was arrested again Sunday on a charge that he assaulted his fiancée.
Moses A. Ballard, 28, 1504 King Springs Road, had been out of jail less than four months on probation when he was charged with domestic aggravated assault for the alleged assault.
In a news release, police said they found Ballard's fiancée at her apartment with a head laceration, a bruised face and a swollen shoulder. She told police Ballard had assaulted her at 1004 Earnest St. and she had gone back to her apartment to call police. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police found Ballard in a bedroom at the Earnest Street residence and arrested him. He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance this morning.
Ballard was released from jail in January after a judge granted him probation in a plea deal in the Feb. 2, 2011, shooting of Michael Gaitor at Big G's nightclub. He had been charged with attempted first-degree murder, but he entered an Alford plea to an aggravated assault charge with an eight-year sentence in October.
He was ordered to spend five years on supervised probation and 10 years of unsupervised probation, having spent almost two years in jail awaiting trial.
