A Kingsport woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly selling a vehicle to a city car dealership that was being used as collateral in a loan, Johnson City police said.
According to a police news release, Sharon McCall, 32, 305 Garfield Drive, Kingsport, was charged with theft of property over $1,000.
Police said McCall sold a vehicle to Friendship Hyundai, 3408 N. Roan St., on Aug. 9 after obtaining a loan on the vehicle from Tennessee Title Max, 2508 N. Roan St., on July 31. The loan came to light after Friendship Hyundai was unable to process the vehicle because Tennessee Title Max was the lien holder.
McCall was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where she was being held on $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court in Jonesborough today at 1:30 p.m.
